A downloadable game for Windows

A river. Twelve settlers. Your settlement.

Rillhaven is a medieval settlement builder in development. Shape a valley, manage flowing water and build an economy around the journeys your people actually make.

Free Windows prototype · 0.3.51-dev · English and Polish · Solo + experimental co-op

Build through your people

  • Start with one central house and twelve settlers. Follow eight saved lessons, from your first woodcutter to drinking water, farms, homes and storage.
  • Designate housing zones. Residents choose plots, carry supplies and build. Repeated journeys wear paths into the land.
  • Manage real warehouse stock, delivery policies, paid extensions and seasonal food chains.

Shape the valley

  • Generated mountains, forests, lakes, coasts and nine biomes. Purchase adjacent generated regions, currently up to a 4 × 4 extent.
  • Finite water, mountain springs, drought, channels, cisterns, erosion and built river machinery. Mills and pumps share measured power.
  • Mark underground excavation routes and supports. Miners carry actual spoil. A completed supported shaft can carry workers and their cargo between two already excavated landings, with a real manual operator and a stair escape.

Try ten minutes and help shape the next build

Choose New Valley, build Crafts → Woodcutter, then follow the drinking-water lesson. Place a Water collector with its intake in the river and a dry entrance, and a Drinking cistern near homes. People must finish construction and carry the water.

Getting stuck is useful feedback. Tell us the first confusing step, your version and seed, and whether residents received drinking water. One sentence is enough; no rating is required. Esc → Report a problem prepares a report for you to copy. Nothing sends automatically.

Before you play

Extract the whole ZIP and run Rillhaven.exe beside its data folder. Solo needs no Steam. Choose English or Polish in Settings. Esc opens a separate pause menu with manual saves and five rotating autosaves. Existing Crownstead saves use the same local directory; back them up before migration.

This is an unfinished prototype. Spacewar App ID 480 co-op requires matching 0.3.51/net37 builds and two Steam accounts; two-account Internet play remains unverified. Independent settlements, trade, pacts, mechanical mine hoists and new deep destination chambers are unfinished. Affordable-PC requirements and broad long-session balance remain unverified.

The cover and menu backdrop are illustrations. The gallery shows actual exported gameplay, with captions describing the build and test conditions.

Gallery: an established settlement; 12 litres of water being carried to an empty cistern; the first food task after drinking-water delivery. All three are whole frames from the matching exported 0.3.51 build and saved gameplay milestones.

Install instructions

  1. Download and extract the entire ZIP.
  2. Run Rillhaven.exe beside data_Crownstead_windows_x86_64. Keep that folder name; it is retained for compatibility. The Windows x64 runtime is included.
  3. Choose English or Polish in Settings, then New Valley. Solo needs no Steam.
  4. Build Crafts → Woodcutter and follow the saved tutorial to drinking-water deliveries. Esc opens the separate pause menu, saves, settings and Report a problem.

Version 0.3.51-dev / save47 / net37. Existing Crownstead saves remain in %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Crownstead. Back up old saves before migration. Five autosave slots rotate.

Spacewar480 co-op is experimental. Both players need matching builds and Steam accounts. Local host/client were checked; two-account Internet play remains unverified. Please use solo if you want the checked opening experience.

Report the first confusing step, seed, version and PC specs at the project comments. Reports are prepared locally and never submitted automatically. No rating is required.
